Environment Group
The Environment Group are work towards raising awareness of environmental issues and promoting green living amongst our congregation and wider community. The Church of England adopted a series of Marks for Mission in 1988. They stress the church's conviction that mission goes out from God and that it is his way of loving and saving the world. We are called to serve God's mission by living and proclaiming the good news. The fifth mark specifically calls us "to strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and Past activities have included organising "Green Month" in February, which included special Sunday services with visits from the Diocesan Environmental Advisor and Water Aid, the completion of green challenges, a specific prayer diary for environmental issues, and the pilot event of our local producers fair, "Think Local". For upcoming events, please check the events page. We hope that you will be able to join us to explore some of the issues around God's wonderful creation and how we can, with others in the world-wide church, work with God to complete his mission.
