Home groups at St Peter & St Paul

Why would I join a home group?

Home groups are funny things; if you join a church, or perhaps you may have been in a church for a while, you may hear that home groups are meeting, but have no idea why or what they do. They meet behind the closed doors of people’s homes, but who goes - and more to the point what do they do?

Home groups are just that - they are groups of people who meet in someone’s home to meet together, to talk, pray and also learn from books and other people.

Sometimes we can find that the Bible can be a difficult book to understand, but by going along to a home group you can find people that also find things difficult, or who also struggle to apply their faith to everyday lives.
There are no experts; you may find someone who has read something useful, or someone that knows about a certain subject, but mostly the groups are made up of people who just want a safe place to ask difficult questions and share their thoughts. It’s a way to grow your faith and also gives you the opportunity to think about your faith in the week rather than keeping it as a Sunday activity.

Here at St Peter and Paul, we have three home groups, two daytime and one evening.
