The Choir of St. Peter and St. Paul

We are a traditional robed choir of men and women, with a regular membership of around twenty voices.

Our repertoire is broad and spans music from the Renaissance through to the present day. We are affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music, and aim to achieve the best possible standards to aid worship within our church.

The choir is responsible for leading the weekly singing of the liturgy at St. Peter and St. Paul, and can be heard at the Parish Eucharist, Evensong and Choral Evensong services, as well as at all the other major festivals throughout the church year.

We are a friendly community within the church family, and are always happy to accept new members, on a full or part-time basis. If you are interested in joining us, please contact the Director of Music via the Parish Office.

The Choir usually rehearses at 4.30 p.m. on Sundays during term time.

The Organ

Built by James J. Binns of Leeds and installed in 1916. It has two manuals, a pedal board, 21 speaking stops and a range of couplers and combination pistons. The organ was fully restored in 2006 with the help of the Friends of Great Missenden.
The specification and other details of the organ are available.

St. Peter & St. Paul Music Group

What is the Music Group? Well, we are a group of instrumentalists who contribute to services at St. Peter & St. Paul every other week - the Family service and the third Sunday in the month. At full strength we field 3 violins, 3 flutes, 1 clarinets, 1 oboe, 1 trumpet, piano and at least two soprano soloists. We use largely our own arrangements of well-known pieces of music.

Depending on the service, we can be an alternative to the organ, but frequently play with it. We play all styles of music and would like to play together more often, whether in services or elsewhere.

Anyone who has an instrument lurking in a cupboard (or in active use) is most welcome to join us. We rehearse usually at 5.30 pm on the Saturday before a service. If interested, you should ring or email:
