Consider the Lillies
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
The beauty caught of God's design
In flowers, echos in my mind
Of the uniqueness of each bud and leaf
Of you and me and oh how brief
On this earth, our lives will be
So soon, like them we’re history.
Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
To sit and watch the birds, is paradise to me.
Their antics and relationships are wonderful to see.
Darting here and there to find their food
Busy all day long, caring for a brood.
Wearing clothes of such great delight.
I could sit and watch them until it’s night.
Containers mean a lot to me,
They hold some things we may not see.
Hidden from view, or kept in place.
Important words, which by His Grace
Teach us and guide us each day
And come from God to guide our way.
For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.
