Junior Church

Have you got children that you would like to bring to church? We have three groups which meet on Sundays during term time.

Who are we?

We are MAP, which stands for "Making and Praising". Our members are in school years from Reception to Year 4 but younger children are welcome to join in if parents can lend a hand.

What do we do?

We generally meet on the second and third Sundays in term time and sometimes on other Sundays too. We meet at church at 10am and usually meet in the Bell Tower. We also meet for outings e.g. to a local farm to feed the lambs in the Spring and Peterley Farm for fruit picking in the Autumn. We often have a theme we follow such as "The Parables" and sessions include a wide variety of activities including treasure hunts, craft, cooking, gardening and games. We aim to listen to a story and make or decorate something to take home or display, ranging from kites and cakes to Saint Georges swords and shields.

How can we help you?

Come and join in! Although our group covers a wide age group we aim to have fun activities for the older ones as well as the younger members of the group. Children come from a variety of schools and it's a great opportunity to make friends with other children in the community, both boys and girls.

IGNITE

Who are we?

We are IGNITE, which stands for "In God New Ideas To Explore". Our members are in school years 5-10 and are aged between 9 and 15.

What do we do?

We meet on the second and third Sundays in term time, as well as occasionally on other Sundays, and either use the vestry during the 10am service or walk down to the Oldham Hall. We also meet for social events now and again. We usually have a theme which we are exploring - recently it's been "Poverty on our Doorstep".  As well as finding out what the Bible has to say about Christian responses to poverty, we've visited the Chiltern Foodbank in Chesham, and we've learned about the work of the Old Tea Warehouse in High Wycombe. We've also given practical support to the Old Tea Warehouse by raising money and providing donations for new residents. We also regularly take part in church services, as well as having fun events like a BBQ and a pizza evening.

How can we help you?

If you are in school years 5-10, do come and join us! Our members are both boys and girls and attend lots of different schools, so no-one feels left out.

REACH

REACH

Who are we?

We are REACH, which stands for Religious Education and Christian Help. Young people in school years 9 and above are invited to join us.

What do we do?

We meet at Church or at someone’s home in the afternoon on the second and third Sundays in term time and we try to hold socials at least once a term. We don't follow a theme but instead let the young people decide the focus of the sessions. Normally we try to see how we can be Christians in our everyday life or we focus on a particular bible story and see if we can make it relevant to today; past sessions have included how to be a Christian at work and the story of Moses. Socials vary from bowling, a cinema trip or even just a pizza evening, and tend to take place on Friday nights.

How can we help you?

Everyone is welcome to come and learn a little bit more about the bible and how it relates to the younger generation. It is a great opportunity to meet other young people in the area and have open discussions about faith and Christianity. Sessions are fun and light-hearted and if the young people have any say, always involve some kind of food! We would love to meet you so come and join us.
