Christingle and Christmas Jumper Day

On Sunday 17 December, we celebrated Gaudete Sunday with Christingle. Our newly-formed marimba band gave its debut performance, accompanying the congregational singing of 'Joyful, joyful we adore thee', and four young pianists played voluntaries on the organ. The sermon involved the children in making the Christingles and during the consecration, Malcolm invited the children to join him at the altar so that they could see what he was doing.

Members of the congregation came in their Christmas Jumpers and the best were given prizes. The pictures show the winners.

It was truly a service of celebration. A full recording of the service can be seen here.
